Arlon PTFE-based laminates (AD series, CLTE-XT, 25N) have characteristic frequencies up to 40 GHz and can be used in automotive radar applications up to 77 GHz. The polyimide series (35N, 45N) is not primarily for RF, but in multilayer stacked structures where thermal performance is a design priority, it achieves acceptable performance in the 3-5 GHz frequency range.

For the polyimide and high Tg epoxy series, the answer is yes. Arlon 35N, 45N, and 85N can withstand lead-free reflow soldering peak temperatures of 260°C without performance degradation, with Td values ​​exceeding 380°C. Arlon boards based on PTFE should be evaluated based on specific reflow soldering conditions. PTFE has a high Z-axis coefficient of thermal expansion, and repeated thermal cycling above 200°C may cause stress in vias if aspect ratios and filler specifications are not followed.

Yes, but some conditions must be met. Bonding PTFE to PTFE requires the use of an Arlon-compatible adhesive film, not standard epoxy prepreg. Hybrid laminates of PTFE and FR-4 require a specific adhesive system, but there is a mismatch in coefficients of thermal expansion at the interface. Hybrid laminates of polyimide and FR-4 are more straightforward.
